API

API

The Temp Mail API is designed for Developers and QA Testers who need to automate email-related workflows. It allows you to generate and manage a large number of disposable email accounts for testing sign-ups, password resets, verification emails, and other email-dependent processes.

You can use the API in different ways:

  • Manual testing
  • Direct API calls
  • Automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Puppeteer

It is also a practical solution for applications or websites that need to create temporary disposable email addresses on a regular basis.

Getting Started

You can access and manage the API through the following platform:

RapidAPI Authentication:

When using the API through RapidAPI, authentication is handled with the following headers on every request:

  • X-RapidAPI-Key: Your personal RapidAPI key
  • X-RapidAPI-Host: The specific host value provided in the RapidAPI documentation for this API
Example:

X-RapidAPI-Key: your-rapidapi-key-here
X-RapidAPI-Host: your-api-host.p.rapidapi.com

How It Works

  1. Generate any email address using our domain names.
  2. Use the temporary address to verify on websites that require email confirmation.
  3. The website sends an email to the temporary address.
  4. Our servers receive the message via SMTP, process it, and store it temporarily.
  5. Request the list of emails through the API using your login and domain information.
  6. Retrieve a specific message by its ID to get the full content in JSON format (including body, subject, date, attachments, etc.).
  7. Optionally, request the raw message in base64 encoding exactly as it arrived.

Important Notes

  • You can generate any email address using our domain names without needing a separate API call for creation — simply use the format username@our_domains.
  • All incoming messages are received by our servers. You only need to request them correctly via the API.
  • Messages are automatically deleted within 1–2 hours (self-destroyed).
  • Messages from government services and major financial institutions may not be delivered.
  • Restricted addresses (such as abuse@, webmaster@, contact@, postmaster@, hostmaster@, and admin@) cannot be used or read.
  • You may use any other address combination with our domains.
